The next meeting of the Chicago Area Informix Users Group

will be on March 1st, and we have some important changes to announce!

Earlier this year the Board voted to join forces with the Midwest Database Users Group (www.mwdug.org) that also meets regularly in Chicago. Up until now, the MWDUG has had two tracks -- one for mainframe DB2 users and the other for the distributed crowd.

We have added a third track for the Informix users! Both the Informix and DB2 user groups will benefit by consolidating meeting and administrative expenses, giving members the opportunity to attend sessions from any of the three tracks at a single meeting, and attracting more speakers and an expanded user base. We also hope to attract new members by providing more choices with the three tracks. Combining the two groups also allows IBM to provide more support and resources to both groups.

To celebrate the new Users Group, IBM is donating three free passes to the DB2/Informix Tech Conference in Anaheim California this October, one free pass for each of the three tracks. These passes will be given out in a raffle. Details on how this will work will be presented at the March 1st meeting.
