Linux in the Enterprise (including demo with Informix/4JS) |
| |
|
Presenter: Glenn Jacobson, President of Unique Systems |
Glenn's presentation will make the business case for using Linux on
both servers and workstations, backed by several case studies
from companies that made the transition to Linux. The Unique Systems
approach to Linux adaption is to use a combination of Linux
servers and thin client PC workstations to cut out most of the
proprietary hardware and software costs -- a solution that works in
conjunction with Informix, 4JS, and ThinSoft (Unique's own accounting
and distribution system). Glenn will talk about Linux and its future
in the enterprise as well as how this combination of hardware and software
has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars over proprietary systems.
Glenn will also explain why he thinks that this combination can lead to
widespread adaption of Linux in the future.
Glenn has given this presentation all over the world and these
ideas are being deployed worldwide. Following his talk he will
provide a demo of the above combination in action.
